Timing. Rethought.

When time, position, and data become one,

separate systems for timing and tracking are a thing of the past.

Less logistics.

Virtual checkpoints replace physical physical infrastructure – no heavy transport or installations on hard-to-access course sections.

More safety.

The position and movement of athletes as well as emergency personnel are always visible live - for fast response and  maximum control

More fairness.

Rule violations such as drafting or leaving the course illegally can be reliably detected and verivied using position and movement data.

More visibility.

Live data and visualizations make the race progression transparent and understandable for the spectators, media, and broadcasts..

Position. Closes gaps.

When sports events need more than classic timing.

Classic timekeeping shows when an athlete passes a point. But many events need to know where athletes are at all times – for safety, fairness, and organization. TPS adds precise position and movement data to timing, closing a critical gap.

IIn triathlon, high speeds, close distances, and complex rules come together.

TPS makes the race progress transparent at all times and increases safety on all sections of the track.

  • Live positions of all athletes – not just the leaders
  • Increased safety for athletes and emergency services through constant oversight
  • Objective detection of drafting and track violations
  • Virtual measuring points significantly reduce infrastructure and logistics

Long distances, elevation changes, and remote sections of routes place high demands on safety and visibility.

TPS also provides transparency where traditional timing methods reach their limits.

  • Live visibility of athletes even in hard-to-reach terrain
  • Early detection of stagnation, deviations or emergencies
  • Improved safety for athletes and rescue teams
  • Fewer physical measurement points along the route

High speeds and changing groups require constant oversight.

TPS makes positions visible – even when things do not go according to plan.

  • Live positions and distances of all drivers
  • Early detection of falls or stagnation
  • Improved response time for organisation and safety
  • Clear live rankings without additional track infrastructure

Mass starts, changing positions and long distances require more than just intermediate times.

TPS makes movements, distances, and safety visible.

  • Transparent live rankings even with large starting fields
  • Overview of Position Changes and Route Progression
  • Increased security through continuous position data
  • Virtual measuring points replace complex installations

As the number of participants increases, the need for control and security grows.

TPS provides an overview of the entire field – in real time.

  • Live positions of many athletes simultaneously
  • Improved safety along the entire route
  • Less logistics with higher transparency at the same time
  • Clear presentation for organisations, media, and audiences

In open water swimming, long distances, currents, and large participant fields present unique challenges. Awareness and safety are the main focus..

TPS makes the race progress in open water transparent at all times – from entry to exit.

  • Live positions of all athletes
  • Control who goes into the water and who leaves it again
  • Permanent overview for organisations and rescue services
  • Early detection of directional deviations
  • Virtual measuring lines without additional infrastructure in the water

Thanks to its 5 ATM water resistance and < 1 m GPS accuracy, as well as its lightweight and minimal size, the TPS is ideally suited for use in open water.

Not every sport follows traditional patterns.

TPS is flexible in its application and adapts to different requirements.

  • Unified data basis for position, security and timing
  • Scalable for small events as well as for large-scale events
  • Suitable for new, hybrid or individual event formats

Sensor data. For everyone.

When relevant data is available by role.

Not everyone needs all information. TPS provides time, position, and movement data by role – everyone gets exactly the data they need to act safely, efficiently, and with confidence.

Organisers need an overview, control, and planning certainty – in real time.

Role-relevant data

  • Live positions of all athletes and emergency services
  • Status messages (Movement, Standstill, Deviations)
  • Current race progress and utilisation of critical sections of the route

Central Advantages

  • Increased security through permanent overall overview
  • Faster decisions in incidents
  • Less infrastructure, less logistics, less effort

Timekeepers require reliable, consistent, and traceable data – without complex setups along the route.

Role-relevant data

  • Exact points in time at virtual and physical measuring points
  • Synchronised position and time data from a common data source
  • Comprehensive data basis for rankings, evaluations and examinations

Problems? Solved.

That's why we developed the TPS system.

Ovento has been active in the sports event sector for over 15 years. During this time, we have learned from hands-on experience the possibilities - and the limits - of existing systems and deliberately rethought them further - by timekeepers, for timekeepers.

V

High infrastructure and logistics effort
Antennas, cables, power, and complex setup along the route. Each additional measurement point increases complexity and costs.

Time and position are not synchronised
Timing and tracking operate in separate systems. Live leaderboards are inaccurate or only available at measurement points, and GPS accuracy is limited.

No continuous view of the race
Live information is missing between the start, finish, and splits; position changes are not visible.

Tracking not available for all athletes and personnel
Often, only participants at the top and a few personnel are visible.

Tracker systems not suitable for sports
Devices are heavy, not waterproof or unsuitable for swimming, cold, and rough terrain, and are cumbersome to attach.

Complex handling at large events
Loading, issuing, and returning become complex and error-prone with an increasing number of participants.

Software with a limited focus
Either pure time measurement or pure tracking. Tracking systems lack simulation and analysis, and a synchronous representation of timing and tracking is not provided.

Integration not always clearly defined
The integration into existing timing or event systems is partially unclear.

Minimal Infrastructure
No fixed-installed antennas or measurement points along the route – an integrated system reduces setup, logistics, and costs.

Synchronised Time and Position
Time measurement and tracking are combined.High-precision position data (< 1 m) enable continuous, accurate live rankings.

Continuous live view of the race
The entire race is live visible between the start, finish, and splits, including position changes and distances.

Full overview for athletes and emergency services
Participants, rescue, marshals, and organisation are continuously visible live.

Sports-compatible hardware
Lightweight, portable and fully waterproof devices – designed for water, cold and challenging terrain. Mounting options in various variants

Scalable Event Logistics
Structured processes for loading, distribution, and returns – even with very large participant fields.

Integrated Software
Timing, tracking, live leaderboards, simulation and analysis in a seamless presentation. A change of software is not necessary and everything is synchronised.

Clear System Integration
Clean integration into existing timing and event landscapes.
